Seedance Fast vs Mini: Which One Fits a Small Video Budget?
Compare current Seedance Fast and Mini costs, calculate a 100-clip budget, and choose a version using your own production brief.

If your main question is how many ideas you can afford to test, start with Mini. In our November 5 price check, Seedance 2.0 Mini's lowest public 720p rate on APIMaster was $0.0376488 per second. Fast was $0.072503424. Mini was about 48.07% cheaper per output second.
That answers the budget question. It does not tell you which version will make a usable shot with fewer attempts. We have not run a quality or speed benchmark for this article, and “Fast” is a model name rather than a delivery-time guarantee.
The budget difference
USD per output second, with no reference-video input. Both versions had three active public routes at the time of the check. Market references below come from APIMaster's configuration, not an independently verified manufacturer price list.
| Version | Resolution | Market reference / second | Lowest APIMaster / second | Below reference | Five seconds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mini | 480p | $0.03515 | $0.0175047 | 50.20% | $0.0875 |
| Mini | 720p | $0.0756 | $0.0376488 | 50.20% | $0.1882 |
| Fast | 480p | $0.05625 | $0.03371625 | 40.06% | $0.1686 |
| Fast | 720p | $0.12096 | $0.072503424 | 40.06% | $0.3625 |
For 100 five-second 720p generations, that works out to $18.82 on Mini or $36.25 on Fast. These are planning totals; they assume the checked rate remains available and each output is billed for five seconds.

Test the shot, not just the model name
Use a brief that resembles your real work: a product moving through a scene, a character turning toward the camera, or a specific camera move. Hold the prompt, duration, resolution and audio setting constant where both routes support them.
Before generating, decide what counts as usable. For a product clip, the label might need to remain legible. For a character shot, continuity could matter more. Judge finished clips against that brief rather than choosing whichever sample looks most impressive in isolation.
Record the total spend and the number of usable clips. Divide spend by usable clips. If Mini takes twice as many attempts, much of its per-request advantage disappears. If both meet the brief on a similar number of attempts, Mini's lower rate becomes a direct saving.
Where do 2.0 and 2.5 fit?
At 720p, APIMaster's checked lowest rates were $0.14321664 for standard 2.0 and $0.218916864 for 2.5. Consider them when the cheaper versions cannot meet your requirements, rather than assuming the newest version is necessary for every draft.
Reference-video workflows need a separate calculation. Do not reuse the output-only table for a job with additional input billing. The selected model card is the place to confirm that configuration.
The full price overview compares providers. The 2.5 budget guide covers resolution and duration if you need that version for delivery.
